Summer Cruiser – Promotion/Marketing

Do you want to have the best summer job ever? Blackburn Radio Sarnia (99.9 The Fox, Country CHOK and K106.3) is looking for part time Summer Cruisers members to join our team as fun and energetic station ambassadors of our stations. You will represent our stations at events across Sarnia-Lambton. The successful candidates will love being the center of attention; broadcast live cutins; interact on social media; and make sure that Blackburn Radio stations are everywhere this summer!

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager preparing a weekly schedule
  • Attend station events and maximize station’s on-site presence at community events
  • Driving the Summer Cruiser throughout Sarnia-Lambton, primarily evenings and weekends
  • Proactively engage listeners, clients and general public
  • Update stations social media and website including photos and blogs
  • Maintain upkeep of station vehicles (fuel, cleaning, etc) and promotional signage
  • Write and record station cut-ins or do live cut-ins from events
  • Complete summer cruiser report of weekly activities
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager

Skills Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in media or marketing preferred but not necessary
  • Valid G or G2 driver’s license with a Clean 3 year Ministry of Transportation abstract

Digital Content Coordinator (14 Month Contract) – London, ON

This position focuses on graphic design, digital content strategy, social media management and sales support. This is NOT a web developer position or an IT role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce visually compelling designs in digital & print.
  • Schedule digital ads per client specifications, provide on-going support and reporting to ensure optimal client service.
  • Collaborate with Programming / Promotions to develop digital content that is relevant and engaging to our audiences.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to produce high-level advertising solutions providing a strong R.O.I. and support the achievement of monthly and quarterly budget objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends and stay on top of latest social media innovations to expand engagement and organic reach.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the digital team to support ongoing projects.
  • Act as an advisor to stakeholders, communicating best practice guidelines, social policies and training.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graphic design experience with a contemporary design sensibility.
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • General understanding of the internet advertising landscape, including measurement metrics, competing ad products, internet ad serving and delivery.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with close attention to spelling, grammar and composition style.
  • Corporate Social Media management experience an asset.
  • Experience in web design an asset.
  • Must have a valid G2 Driver’s License – some driving will be required.

Summer Road Crew – Chatham-Kent

Blackburn Radio Inc. in Chatham is seeking part time promotions representatives/Summer Road Crew members to join our team as fun and energetic station ambassadors of all our stations. You will represent 94.3CKSY, CFCO 92.9 and 95.1 COOL FM at events in and around Chatham-Kent.  Reporting to the Marketing and Promotions Manager, the successful candidate will love being the center of attention; interacting on Social Media; and making sure that Blackburn Radio’s stations are everywhere this summer! 

Start Date: May 11 – September 7, 2020

Major Duties:

  • Proactively engage listeners, clients and the general public
  • Attend events around Chatham-Kent throughout the summer.
  • Maintain and create the Event Calendar for the summer, scheduling their time effectively within the hours allowed.
  • Make updates/posts to station websites & social media accounts.
  • Maintain promotional signage and handouts, equipment, prizes, station vehicles and storage area
  • Attend all major station promotions, designated client promotions, and non-profit events as required
  • Provide regular event feedback, including post-event wrap reports

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the Chatham-Kent area
  • High energy, outgoing and eager to initiate conversation with the public
  • Ability to work well as a team member, with excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be available and willing to work nights and weekends, supervising station events
  • Experience with social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), WordPress, Microsoft Software and video editing software an asset
  • Post secondary graduation certificate from related broadcasting/PR/marketing course
  • Previous experience in radio promotions
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding our retail client base and maximizing local radio & digital revenue. Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly/annual radio & digital revenue targets
